Welcome to Haneul (하늘), the Korean drama and film tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it's used and protected.

If you choose to create an account (optional — the app also works without one), we collect your email address and password (stored encrypted — we never have access to it in plain text). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the identifier and email address associated with that account, as shared by Google or Apple under their own terms.
The series, films, watch statuses, personal notes and ratings you add are stored locally on your device by default, so the app works without an account. If you're signed in, this data is also synced to our servers (via Supabase) so you can access it across devices and benefit from a remote backup.
We use your IP address to approximate your country, solely to display which streaming platforms are available in your region (e.g. Netflix, Prime Video, Viki). This isn't stored permanently and isn't used to pinpoint your exact location.
If you enable community features (public profile, following other users), the following may be visible to others depending on your privacy settings: your username and profile picture, your profile banner, your watch statistics if made public, and your list of followers/following.
If you choose a custom profile picture from your gallery, the image is imported only with your explicit permission and stored securely.
We use your data exclusively to let you create and access your account across devices, back up and sync your library, show relevant streaming platforms for your region, enable community features if you opt in, and send account-related emails (such as password resets).
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data stored on our servers is removed within a reasonable timeframe, except where longer retention is legally required.
Data stored locally on your device remains under your control and can be deleted anytime via the app's settings (Danger Zone section).

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration — including password encryption and secure connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Haneul is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally, particularly when new features are added (for example, advertising or paid subscriptions). Any material change will be notified within the app.
